NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTRIC CO-OP

Centrix Bank GOAL:
Maintain consistency in all marketing materials created for the NH Electric Co-op through the use of a Design Style Guide for all printed materials.
BACKGROUND
A democratically controlled electric distribution cooperative serving over 80,000 members in 116 Granite State communities, the NH Electric Co-op maintains over 5,400 miles of energized line traversing 10 New Hampshire counties.
THE CHALLENGE
As a cooperative, it is imperative that this electric distributor keep the lines of communication open with its members at all times. With a variety of departments serving both residential and commercial members, communication and member service requires strict adherence to detail. With some materials being printed and managed in-house, and others off-site, it was imperative that a design process be followed.
THE SOLUTION
A Design Style Guide would be created and provided to all divisions of the Co-op. The Guide would define the graphic direction through use of image and color application. In this regard, A warm, non-traditional, earth-tone color palette for all printed materials was chosen to subliminally communicate a warm and friendly feeling as well as the Co-op’s commitment to preserving the environment and conserving energy. Additionally, a striped pattern using “clashing” color application lends the pieces a more modern image.

THE RESULTS
Overall, the adherence of a design style guide professionally brands the Co-op each time it communicates to its members via printed materials.

Each department of the Co-op was assigned its own color. Therefore, all marketing materials are now easily identified as Co-op communication as well as by the department, thanks to a professional and consistent look and feel for all documents.
